Maximilian Virgili is a Berlin-based photographer of German and Italian heritage. He works across still life and documentary, with a particular interest in the fashion, sports, travel, and lifestyle sectors.

He finds inspiration is various art forms, most prominently film, classical music, and impressionist and post-impressionist painting, as well as nature. These inspirations have followed Maximilian in his photographic pursuits, his practice defined by quality of light, colour, curiosity and observing of the world around him.

Early in his career, Maximilian worked as a photo editor for various editorial titles, which allowed him to develop his aesthetic sensibility and approach, something he describes as spontaneous, yet intentional. Often, when he takes an image, he’s guided as much by intuition as his accumulated experience.
