His acclaimed project Golden Boy captures young men in their everyday lives, portraying their essence with respect and depth. Recognised at Foam Talent 2021, this series underscores Kwabena’s dedication to revealing their pride and beauty.
Through careful research and deep engagement with his subjects, Kwabena builds meaningful connections, resulting in sensitive and emotive portraits. His journey into his personal heritage took him to Ghana, where he created Sika Kokoo—a photo book that juxtaposes contemporary Ghanaian culture with historical symbols and proverbs. Kwabena’s talent has recently earned him a spot at the prestigious Black Rock Senegal residency.
