Based in New York, Heather Sten is a photographer with an unassuming, empathetic approach that allows her to capture portraits in their most natural state.

Whether photographing a friend, a family member, a stranger in the street or international celebrity, her ethos remains the same: “getting to learn about people and their experiences, and translating that kindred energy into portraiture is really exciting and humbling for me. I try to be as tender as I can.” Amongst the notable faces in her portfolio are director Spike Lee, iconoclast John Waters, actor Glenn Close and comedian Amy Schumer.

Through a blend of candid portraits, natural gesture and environmental details, Heather has amassed a loyal client base of brands and editorial titles, including Airbnb, Apartamento, FT’s HTSI, Square, The New York Times, Thom Browne and WSJ. Magazine.
